tricksingh’s “MIAMI!” Is Chapter 2 of His Comeback Arc

tricksingh is back, and the energy has shifted. “MIAMI!”, produced by Eyepatch, lands as Chapter 2 of a personal arc that started with the quietly devastating “Nayi Shuruwaat” — and where that track sat with the possibility of losing everything, this one responds with something different: the knowledge that what’s meant for you doesn’t leave. So you might as well enjoy the ride.

From “Nayi Shuruwaat” to “MIAMI!” — A Two-Part Story

“Nayi Shuruwaat”, tricksingh’s earlier collaboration with Sid Sriram and Eyepatch, was a warning shot — a track about how fast things can disappear. It was an artist reckoning with impermanence, staring at the possibility of losing the thing that defines him.

“MIAMI!” is the answer. Same arc, completely different mood. Where Chapter 1 held its breath, Chapter 2 exhales. The artist made it through. He dusted himself off, put on a fire fit, and decided that the comeback isn’t just necessary — it’s worth celebrating.

What makes this framing rare in Indian hip-hop is the deliberateness. Framing releases as chapters rather than standalone singles signals intent. tricksingh and his collaborators aren’t just dropping records — they’re building a body of work with internal logic and emotional continuity.

The Line at the Centre of It All

The song opens with a Punjabi lyric that grounds the entire arc:

“Tere kismat da likheya koi tere toh kho ni sakda.”

What is meant for you can never be taken from you.

For tricksingh, music is that thing. After coming dangerously close to losing it, the line doesn’t land as a motivational poster. It lands as testimony — earned, not borrowed.

The video, directed and edited by Shabad Sharin, carries the same tension through its visuals. tricksingh moves through it holding pride without arrogance, two versions of himself somehow in perfect sync. It’s a self-assured visual that doesn’t need to announce itself.

Eyepatch Stays in the Room

Eyepatch co-produced “Nayi Shuruwaat” alongside Sid Sriram and returns as solo producer on “MIAMI!” — a continuity that mirrors the arc itself. He isn’t just making beats; he’s part of the architecture of this story.

The production on “MIAMI!” feels wider and more self-assured than Chapter 1 — which tracks. A comeback doesn’t sound like the moment before the fall. Eyepatch builds sonic space that lets tricksingh’s voice carry everything without overreaching, giving the track room to breathe while holding its momentum.

What This Arc Says About Indian Hip-Hop Right Now

tricksingh is signed to Bluprint Artists, a label doing deliberate work in the Punjabi rap space. What “MIAMI!” contributes to the broader conversation is something specific: that vulnerability and craft aren’t mutually exclusive in this genre.

Indian hip-hop has no shortage of flexes and street anthems. What it has fewer of are two-part emotional narratives built with this kind of intention. The fact that tricksingh’s comeback doesn’t shy away from the context — the near-loss, the Punjabi prayer, the two selves held in frame together — makes the music land differently than a standard comeback single.

It’s not a PR move. It’s an arc.

What Comes Next

With two chapters in place, a visual language established through Shabad Sharin’s direction, and a production relationship with Eyepatch that clearly has more to say, the question for tricksingh isn’t whether the comeback has landed. It has. The question is what Chapter 3 looks like — and whether the momentum carries into something bigger.

If “MIAMI!” is any indication, he knows exactly where he’s going.

At Rest In Beats, we cover artists building real arcs in the Indian music space — follow along for the stories behind the music.
